About The Position

This role requires a DevOps Engineer with a strong background in Linux environments, system architecture, and cloud platforms. The engineer will be responsible for integrating tools for automated deployment, managing cloud infrastructure, and troubleshooting complex software systems. A key aspect of this position is the requirement for an active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph and US citizenship due to federal contract requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have TS/SCI clearance w/ active polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (e.g., Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace) or Computer Science
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience (excluding education experience)
  • Ten (10)+ years working in an Agile dev environment (excluding education experience)
  • Fluent with Git
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Linux environments (RHEL 617/8, RHCSNRHCE CentOS)
  • Experience with Windows system administration, system monitoring, instrumentation, resiliency and performance.
  • Experience with caching technologies (Memcache, Active MQ, Redis, APC, etc.)
  • Experience with MySQL (Clusters, Replication, and Tuning) and Elasticsearch (Kibana a plus).
  • Ten (10)+ years of system architecture required with a demonstrated ability to read the code and understand the coding logic to assist in troubleshooting
  • Ten (10)+ years' experience managing/monitoring AWS cloud and virtualized servers for optimal performance while working in a Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle models, agile, and DevOps programming methodologies.
  • Fluent skills in object oriented programming and experience in at least one programming language such as Ruby, C, C++, GO, Python, or Java.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Clarity and precision in verbal and written communications

Responsibilities

  • Integrate Jenkins/Bamboo Docker, and Kubernetes for automated deployment.
  • Manage and monitor AWS cloud and virtualized servers for optimal performance in a Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment.
  • Acquire in-depth understanding of large complex software systems to isolate defects, reproduce defects, assess risk, and understand varied customer deployments.
  • Work with customers, developers, testing, project management, and support staff.
  • Troubleshoot system architecture issues.
  • Ensure optimal performance of cloud and virtualised servers.
  • Apply knowledge of security practices, networking protocols, firewalls, and PCI compliance.
