About The Position

ABC Legal Services is seeking a full-time, remote DevOps Engineer to join a small, hands-on development team and work extensively in AWS. The engineer will own the AWS-hosted environments across networking, systems, and other AWS services, while also supporting development work as it moves through those environments. The role combines infrastructure responsibilities with practical DevOps support for the development team. The engineer will collaborate with development, infrastructure, and IT, follow established patterns while contributing ideas, and help identify practical ways to use AI in day-to-day work. The position is suited to a self-motivated problem solver who is comfortable taking on a broad range of work.

Requirements

Strong knowledge and expertise in AWS technologies across a wide range of areas, including networking and systems.
Approximately 3–5 years of mid-level experience.
Bachelor’s degree, ideally in computer science or engineering.
Engineering mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Willingness to follow patterns, take input, and remain flexible.
Responsive and willing to engage.

Nice To Haves

Strong Linux knowledge.
Scripting skills, including Bash on Linux and Python, with the ability to write scripts that support DevOps work.

Responsibilities

Own the different AWS-hosted environments across networking, systems, and a broad range of AWS services.
Support development tasks as they move through AWS environments, in addition to caring for AWS infrastructure.
Write scripts to automate and simplify DevOps work.
Partner with the development team in its day-to-day work, and collaborate with infrastructure and IT where responsibilities overlap.
Follow established patterns and contribute ideas as the team adjusts plans based on collective input.
Help the team determine practical ways to use AI in day-to-day work.
