The Developmental Pediatrics Advanced Practice Nurse, within the Department of Pediatrics, will provide direct patient care in consultation with a supervising physician. This role involves evaluating and managing follow-up patients, maintaining a panel of continuity care patients, and assisting with patient flow and procedures when triage nurses are unavailable. The nurse will perform various nursing tasks such as urinary catheterization and venipuncture, and collaborate with physicians and the PA Team for patient consults and monitoring. Responsibilities also include reviewing laboratory reports, contacting families for further evaluation, and promptly documenting all aspects of patient care according to practice guidelines. Additionally, the role involves assisting with patient education activities across various age groups, maintaining CPR certification, attending mandatory in-service updates and continuing education programs, and completing routine paperwork. This includes managing medication and vitamin refills, sharing patient information with other healthcare providers, and completing specific forms like school and daycare Supplemental Social Security Income forms.
