About The Position

Nucor Buildings Group (NBG) is seeking a Developmental District Sales Manager (DDSM) for a full-time, salaried position. This role is designed as a comprehensive career development pathway to prepare individuals for a District Sales Manager (DSM) position. The DDSM will gain a deep understanding of NBG's metal building systems, business model, and develop the necessary skills for success as a DSM. The role involves monthly travel for workshops and territory shadowing, self-study of sales strategies and product knowledge, and department rotations to understand the entire product lifecycle. Upon program completion, the individual must commit to relocating to an assigned sales territory.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Previous direct experience in sales.
  • Commitment to pursue a path as a District Sales Manager.
  • Ability to travel regularly to attend workshops and for territory shadowing.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance.
  • Willingness to relocate to an assigned sales territory upon completion of the program.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or Construction.
  • Experience in a construction environment, metal buildings preferred.
  • Public speaking classes and/or experience.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of competitive sales strategies, building systems proposals, construction materials and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of metal building systems, the business model, and skills necessary to be a successful District Sales Manager.
  • Attend monthly workshops covering various topics with other DDSMs.
  • Utilize learning materials for self-study on sales strategies, structural design, and profitability.
  • Spend time in each department to learn about products, manufacturing processes, and target markets.
  • Travel to builders and learn from current DSMs by conversing with and shadowing them.
  • Commit to relocating into an assigned sales territory upon completion of the program.
  • Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
