About The Position

ViaQuest Healthcare Central provides quality support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities in intermediate care facilities (ICF). The LPN provides nursing care to individuals, including medication and treatment administration, health assessment and monitoring, timely follow-up on health concerns, oversight of delegated medication and treatment administration, and accurate documentation.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Currently licensed as an LPN.
• Experience in the field of developmental disabilities.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Strong decision-making and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory or management experience may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and monitor individuals’ responses, notifying the physician as needed.
• Administer treatments, including topical, ear, and eye treatments, enemas, tube feedings, and first aid, and monitor responses for effectiveness.
• Assess and monitor individuals’ health status, including vital signs.
• Follow up in a timely manner on health-related concerns reported by employees or team members.
• Ensure unattended medication and treatment supplies and carts are locked and secured.
• Use nursing judgment to assess individuals’ conditions and initiate necessary care or treatment.
• Document medication administration and complete related records, including MAR/TAR and narcotic count records.
• Oversee employees’ administration of medications and treatments when nursing delegation applies.
• Complete necessary nursing-note entries by the end of the shift.
