About The Position

ViaQuest Healthcare Central provides support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities in intermediate care facilities (ICF). The Developmental Disabilities LPN provides nursing care, administers prescribed medications and treatments, monitors individuals’ health and response to care, and documents nursing activities. The role also includes following up on health concerns and overseeing medication or treatment administration delegated to employees, as applicable.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Currently licensed as an LPN.
• Experience in the field of developmental disabilities.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Strong decision-making and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory or management experience may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications, monitor individuals’ responses, and notify a physician as needed.
• Administer treatments, including topical, ear, eye, enema, tube-feeding, and first-aid care, and monitor their effectiveness.
• Assess and monitor individuals’ health status, including vital signs.
• Address health-related concerns relayed by employees or team members in a timely manner.
• Keep unattended medication and treatment supplies and carts locked and secured.
• Use nursing judgment to assess individuals’ conditions and initiate necessary care or treatment.
• Document medication and treatment administration, sign and initial MAR/TAR records, maintain narcotic count records, and complete other required documentation.
• Oversee proper medication and treatment administration by employees when applicable through delegated nursing.
• Complete required nursing-note entries by the end of the shift.
