About The Position

The City of Roseville is seeking a detail-oriented Development Services Technician I/II to serve as the vital link between the public and our internal teams. This role is crucial for processing permits, assisting development and contractors, and reviewing building applications and permits for compliance. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping the community grow and thrive by providing exceptional service. This is a regular, benefitted, and full-time position, and the established employment list may be used to fill future vacancies.

Requirements

  • For Development Technician I: Two years of increasingly responsible administrative or technical experience with extensive public contact, preferably related to utility issues, land development, community development, or building construction/inspection.
  • For Development Technician I: An Associate’s degree, or 60 semester units of college-level coursework including 18 units in a major field of study and 21 units in general education from an accredited college or university, preferably in urban planning, utility engineering, or a related field. Two years of related work experience can substitute for an Associate’s Degree.
  • For Development Technician I: A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university (no experience required in this training track).
  • For Development Technician II: In addition to Development Technician I requirements, two years of responsible experience performing duties comparable to a Development Technician I in the City of Roseville.
  • For Development Technician II: An Associate’s degree or 60 semester units of college-level coursework including 18 units in a major field of study and 21 units in general education, preferably in urban planning, utility engineering, or a related field. Two years of related work experience can substitute for an Associate’s Degree.
  • Possession of a permit technician certificate from the International Code Council may be required by the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferably related to utility issues, land development, community development or building construction/inspection.
  • College coursework preferably in urban planning, utility engineering, or related field.
