About The Position

The selected candidate will participate in the Engineering Development Program (EDP) for the Development Operations and Product Safety, Certification, & Validation (PSCV) organizations. This is a two-year rotation program in which participants move between three job functions across DO and PSCV, granting them a breadth of experience and insight to the multifaceted world of jet engine development, building and testing the next generation of aerospace propulsion technologies. At the conclusion of the EDP, the candidate will return to the Assembly Process Engineering team for permanent placement.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or STEM Major obtained by start date
The ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA

Nice To Haves

Prior Co-op/internship experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing/assembly shop practices
Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
Active DoD Security Clearance at Secret Level or Higher

Responsibilities

Create and approve jet engine assembly procedures per engineering requirements and Engine Development Plans
Support the Assembly Floor through ownership of assembly instructions and troubleshooting of issues in coordination with Operations and Engineering disciplines
Develop, implement, and validate robust new processes to ensure production readiness
Grow technical proficiency in areas including engine hardware, assembly methods, and assembly equipment
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve safety and efficiency in assembly activities
