About The Position

Reading Partners is seeking a Development Operations Manager to join their national development team. This role is crucial for supporting the organization's annual fundraising efforts, which aim to raise approximately $30 million. The Development Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the data integrity of the fundraising Salesforce database, implementing development systems, and providing support services to the fundraising network, including training and customer service coordination. The position reports to the National Development Operations Director and will manage a part-time Gift Processing Associate. This is a remote position, and candidates must reside in specific states or the District of Columbia.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in development, fundraising, and other revenue-generating roles
  • 1+ year of successful management experience
  • Experience working with Salesforce or a similar CRM database
  • Customer service-oriented with a demonstrated track record of strong collegial relationships
  • Strong attention-to-detail, ability to meet deadlines, and manage multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Ability to prove eligibility to work legally in the U.S. and be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the processing and data integrity of donations and pledges across the network, ensuring smooth operational function of systems interacting with Salesforce.
  • Partner with the National Development Operations Director to maintain data integrity in the Salesforce database by creating audit reports, devising policies, collaborating with the Salesforce team, and communicating changes to the field.
  • Support Salesforce data analysis to track fundraising and revenue generation progress, including the creation and maintenance of dashboards and key reports.
  • Supervise the Gift Processing Associate to ensure timely and accurate gift entry, acknowledgment, and reporting in Salesforce.
  • Write and implement technical guidance for Salesforce during annual budget planning.
  • Serve as the content expert for Classy/GoFundMe Pro (online giving platform), providing training and support to regional staff.
  • Ensure smooth operational function of systems that interact with Salesforce, GoFundMe Pro, DonorSearch, and Conga Composer.
  • Maintain, create, innovate, and implement systems to support best-in-class fundraising across the Reading Partners network.
  • Participate in monthly and annual revenue and cash reconciliation meetings with the accounting department.
  • Train development staff on donor stewardship and cultivation processes and lead Salesforce database trainings for the network.
  • Support the implementation of Salesforce enhancement projects and communicate changes to the field.
  • Improve existing systems and processes in collaboration with the Salesforce Administrator, Accounting Team, and National Development Operations Director.
  • Refine the system for FFS, local government, and AmeriCorps grant tracking.
  • Support the National Development department with other duties as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact internally for regional requests, leading customer service initiatives and responding to support needs for Salesforce or other resources.
  • Lead high-quality gifts processing trainings and presentations to the Reading Partners Development network.
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding of new development staff.
  • Design and create mailing lists, annual report donor lists, and annual appeal lists.
  • Lead ongoing and annual updates to gift processing protocols, donation pledge forms, tax receipt templates, Library updates, third-party gift processing, and matching gift requests.
  • Organize, maintain, and communicate resources to regional staff on the Reading Partners Library, Google Drive, and other platforms.
  • Develop and update specific trainings as needed.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with the national development leadership team to develop strategic fundraising plans, create action steps, and mobilize stakeholders.
  • Execute work in a highly organized, analytical, and data-informed manner.
  • Demonstrate strong detail orientation, accuracy, and ability to develop compelling reports and communications.
  • Create clear project plans with diligent implementation, ensuring projects are thoroughly completed on time.
  • Identify and communicate all contributors, deadlines, and expectations before and during projects.
  • Understand vision and distill it into actionable and manageable pieces.
