About The Position

Grand Canyon University is seeking a Development Officer to identify, cultivate, and secure donations and sponsorship prospects for GCU. This role involves building and maintaining relationships both internally and externally, working within a dynamic team atmosphere to develop and close strategic gift and sponsorship opportunities. The Development Officer will regularly review university assets to maximize potential, maintain an active portfolio of prospects in the GCU database with a minimum of 252 quality interactions annually, and collaborate internally to develop partnerships for gift activation. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Flexible hours to include some weekends and evenings.
• Strategic and creative thinking skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to be a flexible and reliable team player.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the GCU Advancement team to develop and close strategic gift and sponsorship opportunities.
• Regularly review specific university assets that can be leveraged to maximize gift and sponsorship opportunities.
• Maintain an active portfolio of prospects & supporters within the GCU database. Engage in a minimum of 252 quality interactions annually with these prospects.
• Collaborate internally within GCU to develop partnerships for gift activation.
• Participates in other duties as assigned.
