About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking a Development Officer for Annual Giving to join the Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. This role is crucial as UNLV prepares for its next comprehensive campaign. The Development Officer will focus on providing a superior philanthropic experience for donors through personalized digital engagement, building relationships based on their interests. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, this position will manage a portfolio of approximately 1,000 donors and prospects, with defined weekly, monthly, and annual fundraising goals. The role involves executing high-volume, personalized outreach campaigns using digital tools such as CRM platforms, social media, video, phone, and email. Key responsibilities include identifying, cultivating, and soliciting gifts for the Annual Giving program, collaborating with university departments like Marketing and Communications, Alumni Relations, and Development to connect donors with meaningful opportunities. This position is vital for achieving immediate annual giving targets and developing a pipeline for future major gift prospects. The successful candidate will be adept at both in-person and virtual solicitations, engaging donors at a high velocity with a donor-centric approach. Additionally, they will provide stewardship, expressing appreciation, communicating impact, and encouraging continued support. The role may require occasional travel and evening or weekend work, and will represent UNLV at campus and community events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism

Responsibilities
