About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking a Development Officer, Annual Giving, to join the Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. This role is crucial as UNLV prepares for its next comprehensive campaign. The Development Officer will focus on providing an excellent philanthropic experience for donors by using personalized digital engagement to build relationships. The position reports to the Director of Annual Giving and will manage a portfolio of approximately 1,000 donors and prospects, with defined weekly, monthly, and annual goals. Responsibilities include executing high-volume, personalized outreach campaigns via digital tools such as CRM platforms, social media, video, phone, and email. The role involves identifying, cultivating, and soliciting gifts for the Annual Giving program while meeting fundraising targets. Collaboration with departments like Marketing and Communications, Alumni Relations, and Development is expected to connect donors with meaningful opportunities. This position is key to achieving immediate annual giving goals and developing a pipeline for future major gifts. The successful candidate will be comfortable with both in-person and virtual solicitations, engaging donors at a high velocity with a donor-centric approach. Donor stewardship, including expressing appreciation, communicating impact, and encouraging continued support, is also a core function. The role may require occasional travel and evening or weekend work, and will represent UNLV at campus and community events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism

Responsibilities
