About The Position

The Development Coordinator builds and maintains masjid, business, donor, and community relationships that advance IDEA’s mission and Fund Development goals. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Development Coordinator manages an assigned portfolio, secures fundraising and outreach opportunities, supports regional events and campaigns, and represents IDEA throughout the assigned area. The role works closely with regional staff, volunteers, community partners, and cross-functional departments to strengthen donor engagement and expand IDEA’s regional presence. The candidate must show commitment to IDEA’s faith-inspired values and principles, as well as the vision and mission of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
  • Experienced in working with grassroots organizations, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the local Muslim community and community leaders.
  • Strong organizational, project-management, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent oral communication and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively and build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong record keeping and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in fundraising a must.
  • Must be available to travel at least 60% of the time domestically, with possible international travel.
  • Desire to work for a humanitarian cause.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during events and campaigns.
  • Must have their own means of transportation.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace; familiarity with Salesforce, ClickUp, or similar platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, community institutions, volunteers, and the general public throughout the assigned area.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing masajid and identify opportunities to establish relationships with new masajid and communities.
  • Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at community events and program engagements as assigned.
  • Plan, organize, host, and support regional fundraising activities and events in coordination with the Regional Manager, Event Coordinator, other appropriate staff, and volunteers.
  • Respond to donor and community inquiries with accurate and timely information about IDEA’s campaigns, programs, and opportunities for engagement.
  • Schedules and delivers presentations to audiences of diverse backgrounds.
  • Prepares and submits plans, projections, and reports to the Regional Community Fund Development Manager.
  • Researches local communities, prospects, and emerging opportunities to support regional fundraising and development strategies.
  • Continue to strengthen job-related knowledge and skills through required training, workshops, readings, and professional-development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
