About The Position

The Arc of San Diego is seeking a relationship-driven, highly organized Development Coordinator to support fundraising, donor relationships, and mission-driven engagement. The role contributes to fundraising goals, campaigns, and development strategies while helping advance the organization’s impact in the community.

The coordinator researches donor and grant opportunities, writes proposals and donor communications, supports events and campaigns, and helps maintain donor relationships and stewardship. The role also creates communications and storytelling content and tracks donor data and reports. Success includes meeting fundraising goals, growing donor engagement, producing strong grant submissions and reporting, executing effective events and campaigns, and maintaining accurate data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–2 years of related experience.
• Strong writing skills.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• Grant-writing experience preferred.
• Database experience preferred; Raiser’s Edge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support fundraising goals, campaigns, and development strategies.
• Research and identify donor and grant opportunities.
• Write and submit grant proposals and donor communications.
• Assist with fundraising events and campaigns.
• Build and maintain donor relationships and stewardship efforts.
• Create content, including appeals, newsletters, social media, and blogs.
• Track donor data, run reports, and maintain database accuracy.
