About The Position

The Development Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative and project support to the Founders’ Board of Lurie Children’s Hospital and as needed, supports and collaborates with the Community and Donor Engagement team and the Foundation of Lurie Children's. Under the supervision of the Director of Community Engagement, the Coordinator supports the Founders’ Board President, Founders’ Board members, and the Founders’ Board staff team, while collaborating with the broader Community and Donor Engagement and Foundation teams. This role assists with project management for all Board-related events, fundraising campaigns, and initiatives, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, deadlines are met, and fundraising objectives are achieved.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • One year of development experience preferable.
  • Computer skills, including Word processing, Excel and Power Point knowledge.
  • Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills needed, including verbal and language skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and in consensus organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to establish priorities and apply available information and equipment to complete assignments on a timely basis.
  • Qualities of integrity, industry and curiosity.
  • Energy level that ensures high quality productivity on a timely basis.
  • Capable of exercising good judgment and confidentiality in dealing with donors, staff and volunteers.
  • Patience for and understanding of the needs of others.
  • Must be independent, accurate, reliable and a hard worker.
  • Must be able to perform effectively under the pressure of competing and demanding deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the President of the Founders’ Board in executing her volunteer leadership role, managing her calendar and facilitating Board communication.
  • Serve as a liaison for the Founders’ Board, assisting with all day-to-day operations of the Board, including meeting planning and scheduling and coordination of Board volunteers.
  • Provide general assistance including note taking, editing, organizing files, distributing, answering calls, facilitating Board requests, mail merges, and copying.
  • Coordinate meeting arrangements for the monthly Founders’ Board and Executive Committee meetings, the Board’s Annual Meeting, and Spring Seminar. This includes scheduling, preparing the agenda, preparing the PowerPoint presentation, sending reminders, tracking RSVPs in our CRM system, organizing audio-visual needs, taking meeting minutes, room scheduling (if in person), and Zoom management (if virtual).
  • Assist the Director, Community Engagement and the Development Officer, Community Engagement in planning and executing Founders’ Board Giving Day, President’s Appeal. the Pro Am and Dinner on the Bluff and Winter Wishes.
  • Assist with on-site management at events by staffing volunteers, registration, working with location representatives, vendors and staff to execute successful events.
  • Support the work of the Founders’ Board team, by serving as a primary user of our contract system which includes, submitting PO requests, contracts, and invoices.
  • Assist with the Founders’ Board’s Instagram and Facebook pages; developing content surrounding events and other Founders’ Board activities.
  • Partner with the Nursing Committee to plan the annual Nurses Holiday Party and the activities surrounding Nurses’ Week.
  • Maintain accurate mailing lists for Founders’ Board and Associate Founders’ Board mailings utilizing the CRM donor data base.
  • Attend and provide assistance at Founders’ Board events as requested by the Founders’ Board team.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.
