About The Position

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Communications Specialist to support institutional development and community engagement efforts. This role involves a variety of writing and editing projects, planning and implementing multi-media communication strategies, and contributing content to various platforms. The specialist will collaborate with leadership and partners to achieve department and organizational objectives, manage projects from inception to completion, and ensure effective communication support for fundraising and campaign goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public health, marketing, public relations, media relations or another relevant major.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience writing, editing, delivering in-depth content, project management or related communications experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports institutional development and community engagement efforts through writing and editing projects.
• Plans and implements multi-media communication strategies, including proposal writing, stewardship reporting, campaign writing, copywriting for event invitations and collateral, and remarks for executives and Board members.
• Contributes content to communication materials for education programs, websites, publications, blog posts, and patient stories.
• Handles implementation of communication materials for special projects and events.
• Writes, edits, and publishes content for internal and external customers to support specific programs, projects, and events.
• Develops communication plans and coordinates the production of communication materials, collaterals, and proposals.
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with cross-functional partners.
• Manages projects from development to completion, including creating production schedules and timelines, and managing project budgets and invoices.
• Helps to maintain a master development communications drop calendar and collateral archive.
• Submits project tickets through a project management system.
• Executes on a variety of projects for development initiatives to support fundraising and campaign goals via various mediums.
