About The Position

The Development Associate, Special Events provides comprehensive administrative and logistical support for 92NY’s fundraising, stewardship, and donor cultivation events. Reporting to the Senior Director of Special Events, the Associate helps coordinate and execute a wide range of events throughout the year while ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for donors and guests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience supporting development special events and fundraising required, with experience in event coordination, donor relations, event administration, and the execution of fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship of events ranging from 20-500 guests.
• Strong project management and administration skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills required to deal with the public, including major and high-profile donors as well as internal colleagues.
• Detail-oriented with strong writing, editing, proofreading and analytical skills.
• Must work well under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
• Proven high-level of expertise in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word and comfort navigating complex databases.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and execute responsibilities in the face of conflicting priorities or unexpected situations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Tessitura, Salesforce or other CRM databases strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for various fundraising, stewardship, and cultivation events, including correspondence, report generation and day-of administration and greeting.
• Assist with event administration and reporting including processing all event-related contributions, generating lists and reports, tracking RSVPs, producing acknowledgment letters and solicitation mailings, and keeping invitee/donor records up to date.
• Manage a portion of logistical planning for events including registration, building reservations, set-ups and breakdowns.
• Manage creation and distribution of electronic event communications including list creation, email design, and distribution.
• In advance of events, assist as needed with providing confidential research profiles producing biographical, financial, and philanthropic information.
• Submit event expense reports and vendor invoices for payment.
• Assist in benefit fulfillment and ticketing services for donors, including tracking and fulfilling requests, and producing ticketing reports.
• Provide impeccable customer service to 92NY supporters of all levels, including answering phone and email inquiries.
• Perform other related duties as requested or assigned.
