About The Position

Provides day-to-day support for the fundraising effort for an assigned area. Coordinates and carries out fundraising activities, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and prospective donors, as well as relationship building with frontline and administrative staff and faculty. As a key member of the Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA) and clinical department teams, this position collaborates with stakeholders to implement key fundraising strategies, assists in translating institutional priorities into appropriate major gift fundraising programs and captures the flow of information regarding priorities throughout the organization, identifies and responds to gift opportunities, and maintains an active portfolio of key gift prospects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Less than 1 year of direct or related fundraising experience
  • 1 year experience fundraising in a health related or educational institution focusing on individual gift development, annual, corporate or foundation giving
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possesses the ability to work independently as well as cohesively as a member of the team.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work with confidential information.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and knowledge of or willingness to learn database software systems/CRM.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a portfolio that fosters relationships that lead to philanthropic commitments of 75 or more individual gift prospects, maintaining a minimum of 125 meaningful encounters with prospects that generates gift proposals soliciting at least $2,500 (minimum of 30 solicitations per year at this level).
  • Maintain consistent contact with department leaders, volunteers, and key members of Jefferson’s administrative leadership.
  • Using written materials, meetings, and other sources of information, develop a comprehensive understanding of the educational, research, clinical, and financial needs and goals of assigned programs.
  • Support leadership and other members of the assigned team to establish, maintain, and grow a highly responsive and collaborative fundraising program.
  • Work with leadership and team members to prepare and distribute materials and schedule meetings & events to qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward top prospects.
  • Serve as a liaison for OIA leadership when conducting communications projects, generating donor and physician communication, during events and other duties as assigned.
