About The Position

The Sr. Grants Administrator partners with assigned departments to manage post-award research activities while providing exceptional customer service. This role oversees grants administration for a portfolio that includes complex programmatic awards such as Cooperative Agreements, Program Project Grants, and Training Grants. The Sr. Grants Administrator supports Principal Investigators (PIs) by ensuring accurate, timely financial and programmatic information, contributes to training and SOP development, and addresses issues within the assigned portfolio. The position fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and dedication to the research mission, consistent with the values and objectives of the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
  • Five + years of related experience in research administration is required.
  • Computer skills in a PC/Windows environment, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, demonstrated by application materials and previous experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail, as demonstrated by application materials.

  • Prior training/experience in research administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Manages post-award grants for assigned PIs, including monitoring award compliance, analyzing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and coordinating end-of-period activities.
  • Ensures accurate payroll distribution and processes necessary adjustments for faculty, graduate students, fellows, and support staff.
  • Acts as a liaison between PIs and institutional offices to resolve expenditure, compliance, and reporting issues, including assisting with effort reports, budget development, and progress reports.
  • Serves as a resource to department staff and faculty, maintains current knowledge of institutional and sponsor policies, and participates in professional development to enhance expertise.
