About The Position

The University of Alabama is receiving applications for a position in Advancement. Consideration is being given for both the Associate Director and Director of Development positions. The Development Director supports the Vice President for Student Life by securing major gifts that align with the Division of Student Life’s strategic priorities. Provides philanthropic expertise when requesting assistance from the VP for Student Life, Student Life executive level leaders and Student Life departmental leaders to ensure specific stewardship, cultivation and solicitation needs are fulfilled as required. Reports to the Office of Development and the Division of Student Life.

Requirements

• Development Associate Director: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience; OR master's degree and some development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience.
• Development Director: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience.
• Must have valid U.S. driver's license.
• Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
• Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
• Ability to use personal computer for word processing and standard software packages.
