About The Position

As a Developer, you’ll help build, test, and support data-driven output programs for clients across banking, financial services, utilities, insurance, and pension sectors. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience in DCM’s high-volume production environment, working with Unix-based systems, COBOL, Perl, C, and Korn Shell scripting, as well as developing skills with modern content generation platforms such as the Quadient technology stack and AI-assisted coding tools. This is a hybrid role working a minimum of 2 days per week onsite at our Mississauga (Vipond) location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, with 1-3 years of related work experience (recent graduates are encouraged to apply)
  • Experience programming in C, C++, Python, Java, or similar languages
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux command-line, COBOL and Perl is an asset
  • Ability to design, develop, test, analyze, and maintain programs from start to finish, including writing and executing unit, regression, and integration tests
  • Experience with Git or equivalent version control systems and Agile development workflows
  • Adaptable and self-motivated, comfortable learning unfamiliar technologies and languages on the job
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux command-line, COBOL and Perl is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand business requirements, system flow, and technology adoption in order to draft design plans that achieve project goals
  • Develop programs and deliver with effectiveness, efficiency, expandability, portability, and supportability in mind
  • Test programs against all required business scenarios and deploy to the production environment with other business units, supporting and enhancing programs as business needs require
