About The Position

As our first Developer Relations hire, you will be responsible for how developers discover, learn, and succeed with Comfy programmatically. You will act as the voice of the developer within the company. Your responsibilities will include creating guides and sample applications for developers, running office hours and hackathons to assist them, and serving as the public technical spokesperson. Internally, you will be the first to test new API surfaces, providing feedback to prioritize product development based on developer needs. You will cater to two main audiences: developers integrating ComfyUI into their applications and pipelines, and the creators of the 60,000+ community-built custom nodes. The primary focus in the first year will be on developers integrating ComfyUI programmatically. While there is a Head of Community managing the artist community, Discord, and events, this role is specifically for developers writing code.

Requirements

Ability to build a real application against an API without hand-holding.
Experience shipping production-ready applications.
Experience integrating a third-party API or self-hosted service into a real product.
Proven experience producing technical content that developers have used, such as tutorials, sample repositories, videos, or documentation.
Experience working on an API, SDK, or developer platform product with a strong understanding of integration best practices.
Sufficient knowledge of generative AI concepts (e.g., checkpoints, LoRAs, samplers) to engage credibly with users.
Ability to provide direct, specific, and persistent product feedback.
Willingness to operate without a pre-defined playbook and help define the Developer Relations function.
Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, or ability to adapt quickly if strongest in other languages like Go, Rust, or C++.

Nice To Haves

Experience with media, VFX, game, or other creative production pipelines.
Ability to contribute to shipping platform code, such as SDK work, auth flows, or API surface development.
Opinions about documentation tooling and best practices for building and maintaining accurate developer documentation.
Experience using ComfyUI or writing custom nodes for it.
Experience with an open-source product with a large, opinionated community.
Experience serving both self-serve developers and large-company integration teams.

Responsibilities

Owning the path to first success for developers integrating ComfyUI into their applications.
Learning from developers already building on ComfyUI programmatically in production, understanding their pipelines, and gathering feedback for product prioritization.
Shipping sample applications and starter templates that are production-ready, including proper secret handling, error handling, and retry mechanisms.
Identifying and addressing developer friction points by being the first to build against new API surfaces and providing feedback for improvements.
Owning the development and maintenance of developer documentation, including tutorials, guides, and the API reference.
Supporting custom node authors by documenting extension points, providing migration guides for breaking changes, and acting as a liaison between authors and the core team.
Running office hours, workshops, and hackathons to provide recurring live support to developers.
Acting as the public technical voice for ComfyUI through written guides, video walkthroughs, livestreams, and active engagement in developer communities.
