About The Position

WorkOS builds modern developer tools and APIs that make it easy for companies to become Enterprise Ready. Our platform powers authentication, identity, authorization, and other critical infrastructure that developers need to securely scale their products to large organizations. We recently raised a $100M Series C, valuing the company at $2B, led by Meritech and Sapphire with participation from Greenoaks, Craft, Abstract, and Audacious. WorkOS powers enterprise features for many of the fastest-growing AI companies, including OpenAI, Cursor, and Perplexity, Vercel, and Plaid. As AI reshapes software, WorkOS is at the frontier of Human and Agent Authentication, Identity, and Access Control—helping companies answer a new critical question: who are your agents, and what are they allowed to do? Our fast-growing customer base includes hundreds of modern software companies building the next generation of enterprise-ready products. We're at an inflection point for what it means to build for developers. The way engineers discover, integrate, and work with APIs is changing fast, and we're actively building the infrastructure to meet that shift. Our DX team is small and shipping a lot. Right now, that looks like: a CLI that uses the Claude Agent SDK to automatically install and configure AuthKit into any project; agent skills auto-generated from our docs so that WorkOS works well in any AI coding environment; AI-native documentation that's structured as a first-class input to LLMs and agents, not an afterthought; and a move toward fully generated, polyglot SDKs that keep seven language libraries in sync without seven separate humans maintaining them by hand. The goal is that when a developer (or their agent) needs enterprise-ready auth, WorkOS is the easiest path forward regardless of stack, language, or how they're building.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience with a real track record of shipping and maintaining SDKs or OSS projects
  • Deep fluency in at least three of our supported languages; you should have strong opinions about what idiomatic code looks like in each
  • Experience with or genuine excitement about AI-native tooling: agent SDKs, context engineering, evals, LLM-powered CLIs
  • Interest in documentation as infrastructure, not just prose
  • Strong instincts for what makes a developer experience good vs. merely functional
  • Experience owning projects end-to-end and driving decisions based on customer impact

Responsibilities

  • Ship agent tools and skills so developers (and their agents) can integrate WorkOS without friction
  • Write evaluations to measure whether what you ship actually improves developer outcomes
  • Talk to customers, surface insights, and translate them into roadmap
  • Contribute to the architecture and tooling for fully generated, polyglot SDK pipelines — so a change to the API propagates cleanly across all languages
  • Own and evolve SDKs across our seven supported languages (Node/TypeScript, Python, Ruby, Go, Java, PHP, .NET) and framework libraries like our Next.js, Remix, and TanStack integrations
  • Build and extend AI-native documentation systems as structured context that makes WorkOS work well in Cursor, Claude, Copilot, and agentic workflows
  • Represent WorkOS publicly through docs, blog posts, OSS, and occasional conference appearances
  • Build developer tooling like the WorkOS CLI that make complex integrations feel trivial

Benefits

  • Competitive pay
  • Substantial equity grants
  • Healthcare insurance (Medical, Dental and Vision) for you and your family
