About The Position

Synthesia is seeking its first Developer Evangelist to promote its API and platform capabilities to the developer community. This role involves creating technical content, building sample applications, representing Synthesia at industry events, and acting as a liaison between developers and the product/engineering teams. The goal is to drive developer adoption of Synthesia's AI video embedding solutions. The Developer Evangelist will be part of the Developer Services team and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Developer Support.

Requirements

  • Experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, technical evangelism, or a similar hybrid technical/communication role, ideally at a platform, API-first, or infrastructure company.

  • Strong, authentic communicator across written, live, and on-stage formats.
  • Ability to make technical concepts understandable to a developer audience.
  • Comfortable with regular travel and public speaking.
  • Energized by meeting developers in person.
  • Track record of sustained content output (blog, video, or community content).
  • Skilled at listening and translating developer feedback into actionable signals for the product team.
  • Comfortable operating with a lot of autonomy in a fast-moving, still-forming function.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing following or credibility within a developer community relevant to Synthesia's platform (video, AI/ML, automation, or enterprise software).

Responsibilities

  • Create technical content that developers use, including blog posts, tutorials, and how-to guides showcasing real integrations.
  • Build and maintain sample apps, starter kits, and code snippets for common languages and frameworks.
  • Produce video walkthroughs and livestreams using Synthesia's product.
  • Maintain a consistent output of content to build trust.
  • Represent Synthesia at conferences, meetups, hackathons, and webinars as a speaker, workshop host, and booth presence.
  • Run livestreams and community AMAs focused on implementation questions.
  • Build relationships with individual developers, technical bloggers, and community leaders.
  • Travel as needed to engage with relevant developer communities.
  • Get hands-on with the Synthesia API to build, debug, and speak with authority.
  • Channel developer feedback, friction points, and feature requests to Product and Engineering.
  • Partner with Developer Support and Documentation to identify API rough edges.
  • Help prioritize the developer experience roadmap.
  • Grow and nurture community channels like Discord/Slack and developer newsletters.
