About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking a Detention Officer to provide security, care, and direct supervision of inmates or residents in a secure correctional facility. The role performs routine duties under established policies, regulations, and procedures to maintain order throughout housing units, meals, recreation, work assignments, and other activities. The officer may use weapons or force to maintain discipline and order and must be able to work any post assignment on any shift. The position is responsible for residents’ order, safety, and security, and involves interchangeable assignments in areas including armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, and visitation.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
Complete pre-service correctional officer training.
Where applicable, hold a non-commissioned security officer license issued by the state of employment.
Valid driver's license and clear driving record.
Ability to complete required training established or necessary to meet contract requirements and/or standards.
At least 18 years of age.
