Detention Officer

About The Position
The Detention Officer provides for the safety of staff and inmates and the security of the Detention Center. The role supervises inmate activities and performs related corrections and law enforcement work as assigned. The position follows some established procedures while exercising judgment about how or when to perform work, which is reviewed regularly by a supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by completion of required law enforcement coursework.
- Possess and maintain Basic Jail Officer certification from the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy.
- Possess CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Meet other requirements set forth in applicable South Carolina statutes and regulations.

- Perform related corrections and law enforcement work as assigned.
