About The Position

The Detailer/Drafter produces accurate fabrication bills of material and erection plans for fabricating and erecting New Millennium products. The role prepares joist and deck layout plans and sections using AutoCAD, calculates joist and girder loading from design loading provided in contract documents, and coordinates project details with customers, steel detailers, engineers, and others. The position handles multiple projects in a fast-paced, production-driven environment and meets schedules for assigned projects. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluency with AutoCAD.
• Ability to visualize how elements fit together in three dimensions while working with two-dimensional drawings.
• Willingness to go beyond typical duties to assist co-workers and customers.
• CAD-related degree and/or experience.

Nice To Haves

• Prior structural and/or joist detailing experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare joist and deck layout plans and sections using AutoCAD.
• Prepare RFIs and coordinate project details with customers, steel detailers, engineers, and others.
• Calculate joist and girder loading based on design loading provided on contract documents.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
• Meet schedules for assigned projects.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
