The Desk Adjuster will investigate claims by verifying facts through policy review, endorsements, and interviews with insured parties and other relevant individuals. They will write estimates or denials based on coverage determination, review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with carrier policies, and identify potentially fraudulent activity. The role involves setting appropriate reserves, recommending claim payments, and adhering to carrier Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and claim closure requirements. The Desk Adjuster will also draft and deliver clear, professional correspondence, exercise sound judgment to resolve complex claim issues, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Maintaining detailed, organized file documentation and serving as a technical subject matter expert are key aspects of the role. Additionally, the Desk Adjuster will prepare and submit required documentation, provide regular updates to management, attend training sessions, and deliver excellent customer service while adhering to all applicable State Insurance Regulation requirements and laws. They will also assume personal responsibility for maintaining the requisite state license for assigned states and perform additional duties as assigned.
