About The Position

Foodera Technologies is seeking a Designer to join its Product Development team in Idaho Falls or Caldwell, Idaho. The Designer supports the design and development of food-processing equipment through 3D modeling, working under the direction of Senior Product Leads, senior designers, or engineers. The role uses foundational mechanical design knowledge to modify existing designs and create simple assemblies. It is suited to someone early in their design career who is eager to learn and grow in a supportive engineering team. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, communicates clearly, can manage several projects, follows shop safety practices, and maintains professional relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Mechanical Drafting, Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices.
Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modeling software and its applications.
Good computer skills and a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite tools.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Ability to sit, work at a computer, and type for long periods.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, and gloves.

Responsibilities

Modify existing designs based on engineering specifications and direction.
Create 3D models and simple assemblies to support equipment design.
Work under the direction of Senior Product Leads, senior designers, or engineers.
Manage several projects at the same time in a timely and professional manner.
Travel when needed.
Understand and follow all shop safety practices.
Maintain healthy relationships with the community, customers, vendors, competitors, and co-workers.
