About The Position

The Designer 2 – Panels is responsible for the detailed design, drafting, and documentation of skidded assemblies, including frames, piping, instrumentation, and system integration used in food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, and personal care processing systems. This role requires advanced technical knowledge of fabrication methods, safety standards, and complex assembly coordination to produce comprehensive and manufacturable designs. Collaboration with senior design and engineering staff is critical on large-scale or highly complex projects, where the Designer 2 contributes detailed design execution and problem-solving expertise. Additionally, this role supports and mentor's junior designers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team. Clear communication with project management, fabrication teams, and clients ensures design clarity and alignment across all project phases.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with Inventor - 4 years minimum, no older than 5 releases from current release, required
  • Experience with Autodesk Vault Professional - 2 year’s minimum, no older than 4 releases from current release, required
  • Prior mechanical design experience, required
  • Sufficient custom design knowledge of sanitary process components, required
  • Prior experience with BOM creation, revision control, required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, required
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Design, Drafting & Design, or Engineering Technology, preferred
  • AutoCAD (2-D and 3-D) - 2 years minimum, no older than 4 releases from current release, recommended

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and revision of detailed 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings for skidded equipment assemblies, including frames, piping, instrumentation, and integrated systems.
  • Ensure designs comply with fabrication standards, safety codes, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to coordinate mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation interfaces within skid assemblies.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, functionality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain organized documentation, drawing packages, and revision control to ensure clarity and traceability.
