Ford Motor Company is seeking a Clutch Design & Release Engineer to join the team defining the future of its powertrain portfolio, specifically supporting Hybrid and ICE Transmission programs. This role involves "cradle-to-grave" ownership, leading the design, development, and production release of critical clutch components that directly impact vehicle performance, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), and durability. The engineer will manage product release CAD and BOM structures, including assembly positioning and mass attribute analysis, and facilitate supplier data integration. Responsibilities also include developing CAD studies for design improvements, utilizing product check-in/check-out processes, version control, data release, and change management within Ford’s PLM ecosystem. The D&R Engineer will perform feasibility analyses using CAD tools, such as draft angle analysis, undercut detection, minimum bend radius validation for sheet metal, and clearance checks to support manufacturing and machining requirements. Product Development at Ford uses design thinking and user experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services, contributing to advancements in autonomy, electrification, and smart mobility technologies.
