We are looking for visionary, collaborative, and passionate individuals to join our entrepreneurial teams and shape the future of transportation. This role is crucial in revolutionizing the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by taking ownership of Scout’s ADAS Compute Platform. This position is based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC, requiring 4 days per week in the office with one flexible day. Regular in-person meetings and events are expected, along with occasional travel for company events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in ADAS development or component release within the automotive industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Compute Platform development, with experience in PCB-layout, mechanical ECU design, and diagnostics.
  • Experience with software configuration and release management.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and tools for development, simulation, and testing (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer, JIRA, and Confluence).
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets, root-cause system issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, present technical information, and influence decision-making processes.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with relevant safety standards and legislative regulations (e.g. ISO 26262, SAE J3016, FMVSS) and experience in conducting safety analyses (FMEA, FMEDA).
  • Experience within the VW Group in automated driving or ADAS.
  • Fluency in German.

Responsibilities

  • Design, test, and sign-off Scout’s ADAS Compute Platform, covering HW-layout to SW-config-management.
  • Collaborate with international teams to define Scout’s ECU requirements and integrate the ADAS Module into the E/E architecture and vehicle platform.
  • Elaborate and align SW-release plans with ADAS feature owners and the overall vehicle’s release management.
  • Flash, test, and validate Scout’s ADAS ECU, supporting issue management and troubleshooting from early development through production.
  • Undertake additional release responsibilities for ADAS cameras hardware and associated mounting hardware.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in ADAS technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
