About The Position

Shambaugh is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to design fire protection systems for projects across industrial, food processing, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio-fuel sectors. The role involves designing system layouts using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK, preparing hydraulic calculations and pipe lists for prefabrication, and coordinating with other trades. The position also includes BIM modeling and field surveying, as well as working with customers to support satisfaction.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
Excellent communication, self-motivation, and organizational skills.
Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Nice To Haves

An associate or technical degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience; example fields include architectural, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and construction management.
Fire protection design experience.
NICET certification.
AutoCAD and/or Hydratec experience.

Responsibilities

Design and lay out fire sprinkler systems.
Read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, including construction drawings and specifications across disciplines.
Write, plan, coordinate, and deliver presentations to individuals and groups.
Work with mathematical concepts, including hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
Prepare fire sprinkler designs using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK.
Perform BIM modeling and field surveying.
Prepare fabrication lists and coordinate between trades.
Perform other duties as assigned.
