About The Position

The Design Intern is responsible for contributing to creative concepts from project initiation through the completion of final product. An eternal learner – they are excited to immerse themselves in all things design: branding, packaging, and beyond. A self-starter – they are able to work independently with direction or collaboratively within a team. They are fully engaged and support their team in the execution of ideas across a range of styles. Their passion and enthusiasm for design is infectious. The Design Intern is detail oriented and ensures their work is accurate and delivers against the client brief.

Requirements

  • 0-2+ years of experience as a graphic designer in a packaging studio or creative firm
  • Working towards College or University diploma in graphic, packaging, or communication design is preferred
  • Proficient using Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite (Expert knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint (or Keynote)

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Senior members of the team in the execution of client briefs into successful and effective concepts which exceed client expectations
  • High quality visual problem-solving and concept execution
  • Assisting with competitive audits and building case studies
  • Attending team brainstorming sessions and assisting with the building of mood boards
  • Building presentation decks which showcase our work and ensuring its accuracy
  • Presenting your work internally with the confidence that comes from knowing that you have done all that you can
  • Apprenticing in Creative and Adaptive projects alike
  • Thriving in the demands of pressing deadlines and confidently managing multiple priorities
  • Playing an active role in supporting both your immediate colleagues and those across the agency
  • Taking personal responsibility and guardianship for your projects – ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely completion of high quality work
  • Supporting the team across projects with a range of complexities
  • Maintaining a positive and open dialogue with team members so they are fully informed throughout the project life-cycle
  • Being an active participant in agency life and get involved with internal initiatives
