About The Position

The Design Intern supports the design and office teams with a blend of creative and administrative tasks. This role contributes to the development of visual materials, presentations, and design research while assisting with day-to-day office coordination. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to gain hands-on experience in a professional design environment.

Requirements

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar) is a plus
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable using general office equipment (computers, scanners, printers, etc.)
  • Interest in design, architecture, construction, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and formatting of design presentations, including PowerPoint decks and visual materials
  • Support design research by gathering inspiration, trends, and competitive analysis relevant to company projects
  • Help prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation, files, and digital assets
  • Collaborate with team members to develop concept boards, layouts, and basic design drafts
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties such as data entry, document formatting, and file management
  • Take notes during meetings and assist in compiling project summaries, drafts, and reports
  • Manage and update internal databases and project tracking systems
  • Coordinate and organize meeting spaces, materials, and calendars for design reviews and presentations
  • Assist with general office tasks including answering phones, directing inquiries, and handling mail or deliveries
  • Attend team meetings, company events, and networking opportunities to gain industry exposure
  • Shadow team members across departments to gain insight into various roles within design and operations
