About The Position

We are looking for a Design Engineering Intern to join our Target Rock team in the Design Engineering Department! This position is located in East Farmingdale, NY. The intern will develop and apply design engineering skills alongside Design Engineers. The role involves designing and developing fixtures, tooling, and production hardware, generating 3D models in CAD, creating technical 2D drawings, supporting design and development projects, and assisting in the maintenance and revisions of existing products and drawings. A key project involves migrating CAD files from an older program to the current NX program.

Requirements

Must be a US citizen
Actively pursuing Four (4) year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Nuclear
Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Mathcad

Nice To Haves

Experience with CAD software (NX is a plus)

Responsibilities

Design and develop fixtures, tooling, and production hardware as needed to support Target Rock's operations departments.
Generate 3D models of parts and assemblies in CAD.
Create technical 2D detail and assembly drawings with appropriate tolerancing methods.
Work alongside Design Engineers to support design and development projects to achieve on-time completion of milestones.
Assist in the maintenance and revisions of existing Target Rock products and drawings through Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
Participate in I-deas to NX CAD file migration.
