About The Position

The Precision Amplifier Group at Analog Devices is seeking a Design Evaluation Engineering Intern to perform performance measurements and full silicon characterization of precision amplifiers, high-speed amplifiers, current-sense products, or ADC drivers. The internship provides exposure to design evaluation engineering from product definition through production and release. The intern will work with cross-functional teams and contribute to silicon evaluation, debugging, characterization, and the development of hardware and software for test automation and manual testing.

Requirements

  • Currently working toward a BS or MS degree in electrical engineering (EE) or electrical and computer engineering (ECE).
  • Familiarity with circuit evaluation and characterization using bench test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems by designing appropriate experiments and analyzing complex data.
  • Basic knowledge of analog/digital circuit design and test techniques.
  • Eagerness to learn a new graphical programming language for controlling and automating tests.
  • Strong teamwork skills in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of or exposure to LabVIEW.
  • Familiarity with PCB design and layout tools such as OrCAD or Cadence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform silicon evaluation, debugging, or characterization according to the product's development stage.
  • Learn and apply sophisticated measurement methods to achieve high-precision specifications.
  • Process large amounts of data, document results, and present findings clearly.
  • Work with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing teams as products progress from start to release.
  • Participate in team meetings and activities.
  • Follow through on commitments and communicate issues in a timely manner.
  • Share knowledge and information with colleagues.
  • Support development of hardware and software for automated and manual testing, including hardware debugging and analysis, PCB design, software development for debug tools and instrument drivers, and feedback on potential improvements.

Benefits

  • Interns work on meaningful projects alongside experienced colleagues.
  • Internship program includes lunch-and-learn topics and social events with interns and full-time employees.
  • ADI aims to develop interns for consideration for full-time roles.
