About The Position
We’re supporting an engineering and manufacturing business within the oil & gas sector that is looking to add a Design Engineer to its Aberdeen-based team. This role is focused on the design and development of downhole completion equipment, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through to testing and manufacturing support.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or similar
- Around 5+ years’ experience in a related engineering/design environment
- Experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx or similar design packages
- Exposure to downhole tools, completions, packers or oilfield equipment manufacturing
- Understanding of API standards and engineering documentation
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings
- Support design and development of downhole/completion tools
- Assist with prototype assembly and workshop testing activities
- Generate technical documentation, procedures and reports
- Review customer specifications and technical requirements
- Support engineering calculations and product qualification activities
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and internal procedures
- Maintain drawing integrity and revision control
