Design Engineer 1

Wasco Switches & Sensors•Emmett, ID

About The Position

The Design Engineer supports the design and development of mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by applying established engineering principles to defined assignments. The role assists with creating, refining, and validating specifications, concepts, and test methods to help ensure product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance. Work is performed under the guidance of more experienced engineering personnel while the employee develops technical knowledge and professional proficiency. The position operates in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments. It requires extended periods of sitting, standing, and computer use; frequent walking between work areas and climbing stairs; and occasional bending, kneeling, reaching, or working around equipment. The role may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees may be exposed to operating machinery, noise, electrical systems, chemicals, and temperature variations, and must follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Occasional business travel may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
