About The Position

Plans and directs complex engineering design and development projects to support a number of customer programs. This role involves working with internal and external customers to generate and modify designs for functional and manufacturing requirements, operating and understanding structural FEA software and moldflow simulation, and generating and interpreting 2D prints with associated tolerance stack-up analyses and GD&T. The position requires understanding and selecting plastic materials, developing new tools and designs, and overseeing modifications to existing tools, jigs, fixtures, and machines. The Design Engineer will provide engineering support, work direction, and technical expertise to lower-level department personnel, analyze engineering proposals and process requirements, and perform customer service and project management activities to ensure customer satisfaction. Support during production samplings, from preparation through follow-up, is also a key responsibility, along with interfacing with manufacturing on design and engineering issues and managing critical information such as blueprints and engineering change orders. Frequent travel between plant locations and occasional domestic and international travel is expected.
