About The Position
Berlin Bytes is seeking freelance Design Engineers for its project-based pool. The role combines UI/UX design with frontend implementation for web and mobile products. You will turn concepts, flows, and interface designs into implemented or implementation-ready outcomes, build high-fidelity prototypes or frontend experiences when needed, and collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams. You will also contribute to or work with design systems and reusable components, helping maintain quality and consistency from concept through delivery. Berlin Bytes is a creative software development and consulting agency. Together with Kambria, its AI transformation lever, it designs, builds, and scales digital and AI-driven solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a hybrid role such as Design Engineer, UX Engineer, or Product Designer with frontend skills.
- A strong portfolio showing both design work and implemented outcomes.
- Excellent UX/UI design skills for digital products.
- Frontend implementation skills relevant to web delivery.
- Understanding of responsive design, component-based systems, and implementation constraints.
- Ability to work across design and engineering collaboration.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks.
- Strong prototyping skills.
- Motion or interaction design experience.
- German language skills.
