About The Position

The Rotational Intensive Specialized Experience (RISE) Program is a 2-year program designed for highly talented engineers, featuring four six-month rotations. This program offers participants exposure to and experience in different engineering disciplines, including new product development (design engineering), quality, product testing, and simulation. Rotations are tailored to individual passions, skill sets, and business needs. RISE engineers gain broad knowledge of Research & Development functions and participate in leadership and personal development trainings, seminars, and product labs. The program also provides exposure to senior leadership through end-of-rotation presentations, town halls, and small group forums. Upon successful completion, participants are eligible to apply for open roles within Stryker. The program is designed for accelerated career progression, offering networking with senior leadership, exposure to cutting-edge technology, engineering mentorship, personal and professional development, and a broad perspective of R&D functions, all leading to inspiring careers, enduring friendships, and accelerated career progression.

Requirements

  • B.S or M.S. in Software, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering discipline.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • The individual should enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic and results orientated team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively work cross-functionally and externally as required.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • High level of PC Skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation dates of December 2026 or spring of 2027.
  • 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA (or equivalent).
  • Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for new products and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures.
  • Ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specifications.
  • Determine and implement design approaches and parameters and conduct feasibility studies on new designs.
  • Hold active role in New Product Development team discussions.
  • Provide engineering input on key topics to reduce time to market.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate the results.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Aid in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable.
  • May assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development.
  • Submit periodic reports on assigned topics to manager/ supervisor /mentor.
  • Present to team members and leadership on accomplishments during each six-month rotation.
  • May interact with customers to resolve product issues.
  • All other duties as assigned.
