About The Position

The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is seeking qualified individuals to join their team as a Design Engineer (PE). This role involves providing a full range of project management services for capital improvement projects, utilizing professional engineering principles in areas such as civil, structural, water resources, traffic, or contract administration. The engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, programming, designing, and implementing projects, as well as negotiating and administering multiple contracts, providing technical reviews of designs and estimates, and coordinating with other agencies and utility companies. This classification requires an Arizona Licensed Professional Engineer designation.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field.
  • 5 years of experience as a registered engineer, inclusive of EIT experience.
  • 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
  • An Arizona Professional Engineer Licensure.
  • A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

  • Multifaceted experience with a specific focus in roadway and/or transportation.
