About The Position

We're seeking a Design Engineer II to support electric utility distribution projects by designing reliable overhead and underground distribution systems and assisting with major utility upgrades. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering at ABET accredited university
  • 1-2 years of electrical distribution design experience
  • Client Facing Experience / construction support.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GIS, pole modeling, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and related design tools preferred.
  • Preferred software knowledge includes GIS, pole modeling tools (O-Calc, PoleForeman, Katapult), AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical expertise to develop engineering designs that meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages, calculations, and drawings.
  • Support the preparation of simple to moderately complex designs and contribute to larger, more complex projects.
  • Lead discipline-specific design efforts on simple projects and assist with technical analyses on complex work.
  • Utilize CAD and engineering analysis software to support project deliverables.
  • Communicate scope, cost, schedule, and quality challenges to team leads and project managers.
  • Interact with clients on a limited basis and ensure clear, professional communication.
  • Conduct self-reviews and participate in peer and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy.
  • Support fielding activities and perform other related duties as assigned.
