About The Position

The Design Engineer I provides engineering design and analysis within an assigned project scope of work, including circuit loading, functional evaluations, layouts, and engineering drawings. The role involves awareness of cost, schedule, quantity, and budget control for the engineering scope, and use of advanced design software and in-house programs to optimize design processes. The engineer performs engineering and circuit design tasks through a paperless workflow and may occasionally support projects at site. The position proactively builds interdepartmental relationships to help manage client expectations for technical execution methods, scope, schedule, progress, and technical change management. Its impact is primarily within the engineer’s own department and occasionally across other functions. The engineer identifies and communicates proposed solutions to emerging issues that may affect cost, schedule, quality or design integrity, safety, or construction interfaces, and resolves problems of limited scope using standard procedures. The role also contributes to the team environment and shared culture of Chemelex and requires a basic understanding of customer priorities.
