About The Position

The Design Engineer manages the design and development of new products for the electric utility market and engineering activities related to maintaining existing products. The role develops product parts and assemblies, manages prototype development and testing, performs finite element analysis and calculations, prepares test reports, provides technical support to Field Sales, reviews proposed product changes, and facilitates engineering drawing changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling software.
• 0–2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, molding, machining, forming, and extruding is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SolidWorks or ProE.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, molding, machining, forming, and extruding.
• 0–2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Manage prototype development and testing.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations.
• Write test reports for internal use and publication.
• Provide technical support to Field Sales personnel.
• Review and analyze proposed product changes.
• Facilitate creation and approval of engineering drawing changes.
• Manage engineering activities related to maintaining existing products.
