About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our Material Handling, Structures, and Specialty team! This position will be based in either Paris, IL, or Omaha, NE. The Design Engineer will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of existing products as well as the development of new ones. They will support key organizational initiatives, collaborating across functions, and will take ownership of specific aspects of the product introduction process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or agricultural engineering or related technical field, required
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to deliver innovative products
  • Solid modeling proficiency and understanding of mechanical design and engineering best practices, utilizing 3D modeling for various materials and manufacturing processes
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of experience in design or product engineering
  • Creo and Windchill experience
  • Hands on experience in fabrication/assembly
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in the agriculture industry
  • Ability to be proactive and independent
  • Ability to organize work and effectively manage a variety of projects at the same time, while meeting deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Enhance existing products by improving performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost; troubleshoot issues and implement design updates.
  • Contribute to concept development, design, prototyping, validation, documentation, and release of new products that meet customer, manufacturing, and market requirements.
  • Work with engineering, product management, manufacturing, and other stakeholders to solve technical problems, participate in design reviews, and deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Provide engineering support to Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, R&T, and Technical Service by supplying technical data, resolving product issues, and ensuring design intent through production.
  • Develop 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using Creo.
  • Conduct design calculations and analyses to ensure robust, reliable product performance.
  • Coordinate and execute testing on concept and prototype builds to validate design intent and performance.
