About The Position

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a dedicated Design Co-op in Plumbing & Fire Protection to join our talented team at our headquarters in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be involved in the application of engineering fundamentals and project-related services in support of design assignments. This developmental position will enable you to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Reliable, quick learner with the ability to take on different tasks at one time.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in engineering or architecture.
• Travel duration, if any, is based on project location.
• All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.

Responsibilities

• Work with assigned design engineers and drafters to execute design drawings and specifications as required to support assigned projects.
• Ensure code and statute compliance in all projects.
• Use computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
• Routinely archive and retrieve data from the electronic database for support of work.
• Research equipment selection from catalogs under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer.
• Become proficient in the use of a computer for Design and CAD applications.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area, which allows efficient access to project information required by other team members.
• Keep the Project Designer/Engineer aware of workload and request work when needed.
• Special projects as assigned.
