About The Position

The Global Brand Protection (GBP) Organization at Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Brand Protection Analytics Co-Op to join its Illicit Trade Analytics (ITA) team. This role focuses on developing and delivering insights to protect patients from illicit trade, including counterfeiting and product tampering. The Co-op will collaborate with data engineers, visualization experts, and data scientists to analyze risks and threats using machine learning and AI techniques. The position involves creating analytics-based reports and presentations to communicate data-driven stories. The role spans across the Global Brand Protection Data & Analytics and Product Protection Laboratory teams.

Requirements

  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s and master's degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics or a related technical field.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
  • Strong quantitative skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and manipulate data effectively.
  • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
  • Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of open-source programming languages such as R and Python.
  • Experience with database management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver impactful data-driven insights to protect patients from illicit trade.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data visualization developers, and data scientists.
  • Support AI tool development by collecting and preparing training data, documenting functional and data requirements, and executing user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Analyze and assess risks and threats from counterfeiting, diversion, and tampering.
  • Apply signal-detection methods, machine learning, and AI to identify illicit trade signals.
  • Develop analytics-based reports and presentations using PowerBI.
  • Support the Product Protection Forensics Laboratory by analyzing counterfeit and diverted samples using forensic analysis methods.
  • Record sample and test data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Support communications and training on product protection security features, including creating presentations and training materials.
  • Support with ad-hoc projects as needed.
