About The Position

Ledcor's Building Construction team in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Design-Build Coordinator to support the design process from pursuit to execution. This role involves collaborating with professionals like the Project Director, Construction Manager, and Pre-Construction Manager to assist with design coordination, schedules, compliance, and the development of subcontract packages. Requirements

• 1–5 years' experience in design coordination or related roles, from inception to project handover on various projects.
• Post-secondary education in architecture/design and/or construction industries on large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with constructing various projects, including complex architectural structures, advanced systems, and environmental considerations, utilizing both Design-Build and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) approaches.
• Working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, costs, budgets, and current construction practices and methodology.
• Proficient with MS Office; understanding of building codes, LEED, and CSA standards.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and support team decision-making.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participate actively in all phases of project pursuit, including RFQ, RFP, and project execution.
• Assist with coordinating design development meetings with internal and external stakeholders throughout the RFP and execution phases.
• Support the coordination of design development and technical aspects of a project, as part of an RFP for a design-build project or other types of partnerships.
• Coordinate activities with external design consultants, including assisting with scope definition and contract administration.
• Help identify design constraints, assess alternatives, and contribute to recommendations for cost-effective design solutions.
• Assist in tracking design schedules and deliverables, ensuring timely project progression.
• Support the identification and tracking of opportunities and risks to positively impact schedule and financial targets.
• Participate in bid analysis, negotiations, and contract awards with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assist in managing change control during design development and construction document phases.
